So, at 1701, Pacific Daylight Time today, Clerks Offices in California can begin issuing marriage licenses for *everyone*. That's EVERYONE. Men and men, women and men, women and women. Equally. ^______^ And maybe I'll live long enough to see my brother's state of residence follow suit.

Don't forget to congratulate George Takai! ^___^

If you're a California resident, register to vote in November, so we can send that stinking stupid "defense of 'marriage'" thing back to the trash heap where it belongs. ^____^

And yes, I'm done nagging now. ^__^ For the moment.... ^.O

“Don’t know why you were so weird about showing me this; I think it’s cool!”

“Well… It is a kind of an acknowledgement…”

“Uh… Wufei… I’m sitting in a wheel chair. I have no feeling and no directed movement in my legs; what makes you think an acknowledgement will bother me?”

“….”

“Fuckin’ crap… Don’t do that, man… *Please* don’t do that! Ah, shit… dammit, Fei… Here. Blow. C’mon… please don’t… not for me…”

“…sorry… I just…”

“Never mind, man. Show me the rest of the brochures. Do you really think this would fit on our stairs?”

“I measured…”

“Now I’m doubly glad we’ve got such wide staircases. I didn’t know they had stuff like this; I thought we were going to have to swap all the rooms around. I don’t suppose they have some engineering details… I’d love to see how it works. The ad copy is kind of vague.”

“I imagine most of their customers don’t care how it works.”

“Heh. You’re probably right about that. Hm… I wonder if we could do the basement stairs, too; that flight is kind of narrow.”

“I will call them tomorrow and ask. Perhaps they can send an engineer to speak with you.”

“Ah, man! That would be so cool! Thanks, Wufei! You’re fantastic! Oh. Crap. Here; you don’t want to get snot on your shirt.”

Somehow, an emotional, blubbering Wufei makes me both teary-eyed and giggly. I can see Duo handing him a Kleenex and him taking a big honking blow.

Wufei's a dignified sort of guy... I imagine it's pretty embarrassing to start weeping all over the landscape... But yeah, I'd giggle too. ^____^

I'm so excited about that starting today! And I am hoping that the economic boost it should give CA- according to the article I read this morning- will be enough to pull the fence sitters over to our side!

Wufei is a sweetie!! *hugs him*

I never have seen what the problem was with gays and lesbians getting married. It's a civil contract; that should be available to anyone. O.o And if other people want to go dress it up with frills and a big church whoopee thing, fine by me, but the church ain't the one issuing that license, and the church ain't the one opening the legal doors. >.<

My marriage certainly didn't implode because of gay marriage; I don't imagine you and Bri are too concerned about that either. ^____^ So you really have to wonder what all those fuckwits who object are afraid of... O.O Roving bands of lesbians with marriage licenses? Gay men in matching tuxedos?

I still have hope for the Bro, but not as long as he lives in Texass. >_>;

I know! It's hilarious! Marriage "threatened"... uh, thanks I'm pretty sure my marriage is going to be just fine no matter who else is allowed to get married. *rolls eyes* I was upset at those frikking clerks for various counties who just stopped holding marriages because they couldn't pick and choose who to marry. It's their job! I hope they get booted out! I was happier to see all the county volunteers in LA/SF/SD/etc who know it's going to get busy and so got themselves deputized to perform marriages. Not to mention all the clergy that volunteered! It is awesome! And the county clerk in Contra Costa who can finally get married- got me all teary! It's about frigging time!

Uh... *steps off soapbox* Got carried away there. Can you tell I've been reading the news??

Oh yeah! I've been watching CNN and they've had several of those wonderful little features. Not bothering with Faux News, though. *rolls eyes*

We've got the east coast and the west coast; now begins the march to meet in the middle. ^____^ I just so want to see the Bro get the same rights and protections you and I get... *O.O*

I can only hope that what's happened in California will spread. I want my children to be able to marry the person they love and have it recognized as legitimate.

And,love a teary Wufei!

It will spread. Maybe slowly, maybe with some setbacks, but it *will* spread. It's too logical not to, in the end. ^____^

And Wufei is just soooo embarrassed... ^__~

Oh, I love this part... so understated and yet it made me all melty. ^______^ I can see Duo getting that engineer in there and him not being able to get out again! ^o^

I was reading articles at work... until I started getting wibbly and had to stop. >_> Did you see the article about the two women who have been together for something like fifty years?

Heh. I can see the installation company sending out a search party and finding Duo and the engineer eating pizza and rummaging the specs and drawing up new ideas together. ^___^ And Heero and the pets kicked back watching in amusement.

Saw that! ^___^ I've met people around here who've been together over twenty years - some over thirty! One couple is just so "Birdcage" it's hysterical. And they each have kids and grandkids! ^___^

Very good. Poor Wufei, he must be so embarrased. Trust Duo to want to take things apart.

Wufei tries so hard, too. ^_o*

Duo just wants a chance to ambush an engineer. He has *ideas*. ^_____^

*sigh* I love an emotional Wufei. Heck, I just love Wufei, but him all teary and emotional and Duo being all "Ack! Don't cry!" is wonderful. And of course Duo wants to know how it works. ^__^

We may get to see the reasons behind Wufei's emotional reaction... >_> If the hamsters should happen to find that notion... ^___^

Engineers, mechanics and seven-year olds: cool! how does it work? *O.O*
