There will be fic, probably tomorrow, maybe later tonight. I'm just in the process of melting down into a puddle of "thank the goddess of sap!" over my RL. (O)_(O);;;


And in keeping with the usual personal egotism of LJ, MySpace, FaceBook, blogs and all other forms of universal diaries, I'm going to *share*! ^____^ Don't you just love me? Okay, scratch that...




I'm sure anyone who's been around for a while has noticed my recent adventures in employment hell. I was pretty sure that I was finally climbing out back around Xmas. However, like Sisyphus (thanks, Sunny; I know just how Duo felt!), the damn rock rolled. >.< The immediate employer took exception to my complaints about the behavior of some favored employees and morphed the job parameters into something I don't do. Not that I *can't* do, but that I choose not to do (for reasons that have been hammered out over four decades). I knew around the beginning of April that we were not destined for a long-term experience, but I was ever-hopeful of someone higher in the food chain having a better grasp of the situation. Alas, it was not to be. *>_<* The top of the food chain is apparently as pig-headed as the middle.

The shoe dropped on May 1, tossed by two very smug and smarmy people after everyone else had gone for the day. Not unexpected. Not entirely unwelcome to be perfectly honest. >_> I do not have a paycheck anymore, but I also do not have a two-hour bumper-to-bumper commute on one of the top five Freeways From Hell. Akachan is not sucking gas or putting on 300+ miles a week; I'm not watching the gas pump numbers edging toward triple digits left of the decimal every damn week. I'm not waking up three or four times a night worrying about what's going to annoy Herself next, and I'm actually able to work on some of my fics. ^___^

And today I received notice that I *do* still qualify for unemployment, so I will be able to afford my meds after all. ^__^ My agency is beginning to come through with some day jobs and a full-time one will show up eventually. Between the unemployment and the day-work, I should be able to keep up my expenses, which also makes me sleep better.

So, what's the point of all this meandering? Mostly, I just felt like it. ^___^ And it takes some of the pressure off the delightful avians who've been kind enough to listen and offer pets and goodies and coffee over the recent days and gives the ever-delicious veggie a chance to refluff the pompons. ^___^ Thanks guys; always appreciated.



We now return to the usual "waiting for fic" part of our program... ^__~

It had the potential to be a great job, but the supervisors... *shakes head* It was like walking into a pit of angry vipers. O.O I don't do well in office politics situations; I have a blind spot for games. =p
