Not making any claims to accuracy here, but I *think* the objects are things that were 'grown' with an expectancy that they would come out cool, but no guarantee. ^___^ Kind of a 'I think this will work; now let me cross my fingers and hit the button.'

I hang around a lot of science-y blogs and they frequently point to geeky neatness like this. ^___^
