...this is what happens... ^__^

I believe this would be known as a "teaser" in the trade....

He yanked Relena around another corner. Crap! The soldier was gaining on them! Relena stumbled, recovered, stumbled again. She was already panting like a dog. Obviously, she would not be lettering in track this year...

Another corner; right, this time. The alley dead ended at a concrete block wall. Relena faltered and made a whimpering noise. A gunshot, almost deafening in the enclosed space; the bullet slammed into the wall ahead of them.

Relena suddenly dug in her heels, almost knocking Duo off his feet. She spun to face the soldier.

“What do you think you’re doing?!” she shrieked. “Don’t you know who I am?!”

Duo blinked. The Ozzie blinked. For a brief instant their eyes met; their unspoken astonishment a common ground.

“How *dare* you shoot at *me*!”

“Shit...”

He grabbed Relena’s arm and yanked her after him; the Ozzie’s second shot missed her by inches. Before she could get her jaw back in place and realize how close she’d come to dying, the boom of a BFG nearly shattered her eardrums and the Ozzie collapsed in an explosion of blood.

“God *damn* it, girl! This ain’t no fucking garden party!” yelled Duo.

Just something that's currently IP.... ^__^ (don't hit the dragon; she's so twitchy, she can't even knit)

O.o I wondered what that odd noise was... didn't sound like the local coyotes...

Teaser, like I said... There will be a more logical version as soon as the hamsters and the bunnies stop fighting over the lettuce. ^__^

*sigh* I really think it's the building anticipation. By Monday morning I'm going to be throwing up on people....

...and maybe I will have written half a dozen mindless pieces of drivel by then... O.o

I would offer you chocolate, but... you know... you live in the mine! ^^; We'll take whatever 'drivel' you come up with, but you know it's not drivel. *pokes you*

I must be looking at it backwards, because it *all* looks like drivel right now... >.< I'm currently drink Starbuck's, on top of a diet cherry coke for breakfast. Can we say 'caffeine overload'? ^.o

And I have a work crisis, I think... *digs hole and hides*

Work crisis? *pokes you* What's going on?

It turned out to be less of a crisis than I feared, but only because another crisis took precedence. *sigh* I was afraid we were going to run out of a critical material and I was going to have to break the news today, but then a piece of equipment broke, which caused a delay in one process, which meant that another process had to stop, which stopped another process, which stopped yet *another* process and rendered the have-or-don't-have of that material irrelevant. Yay. Sort of. >.< And then I discovered a crisis-within-a-crisis that everyone who is aware of has apparently been ignoring. Man, I love manufacturing. O.O

Oh my... a disaster that averted a crisis! :P How... uh... lucky can you get? Sort of?
Should I ask what they're ignoring? O.o

It's a stupid thing, I think. >.< We have these 'tunnels' for drying the fresh out of the machine capsules. The tunnels hold stacks of trays that the caps are laid out on. Each tunnel holds about 320 trays. We have five tunnels. We only have 440 trays. When the trays are full, the machines have to stop, because there is no place to put the finished caps. Ergo, we need more trays. Many more trays. Trays are about $27 each. Odds of us buying more trays: 1000:1. >.< *sigh* This will be my next long-term project. Fortunately, NP is on my side in this. ^__^

*giggles* Sorry for listening in,(not)
But you two are almost as fun to listen to... Are you sure you both know what the other is not speaking about?

(hush, *slaps hand over mouth* Don't mind her - she's mid migrain)

And Ms. Dragon, your drivel is most mind snagging!

Migraine? *pets you gently* Poor baby... I only get very, very mild ones from what I've heard, and even mine suck. Mid? How long do yours last?

I get clusters of them, over 5-10 days, conveniently once a month! I'm thinking hormones are big influence... a pregnancy started them and I am hoping menopause might stop them. *fingers crossed*

Yeah, the eye sparkles are gone, and I have meds on board... I feel no pain, just the confusion and silliness left now... all the left over anoing(annoying) side stuff, so I can manage the computer now, but spell check is a must at this point! Yeah.

I could have left all my spelling errors in and let you laugh yourself silly right along with me!?

$27 freakin' dollars? That's ALL? And it can totally hold up production, but they won't buy more? *rolls eyes* I love the decision making processes of upper management.
Like here... we've spent this whole week playing musical cubes. Moving people around for no real purpose that we can discern. (Unless our theory is right that they only do it to make people dust.) I moved a guy yesterday two cubicles to the right. O.o
But the thing is... not all the cubes have analog phone lines for dialing out. Half those people have to dial-out to the clients in order to do their jobs. Did anybody check to make sure that everybody who needed a line was moving into a cube that HAD a line? Dispite being warned fifty times by us that it needed to be done? Of course not. So now we have people that will never need to dial anywhere, sitting in cubes that have lines, but we're paying to have the wiring guys come out to put lines in the cubes that didn't have them. >_<;;

It doesn't seem like much to me; I mean, if it means being able to run or not run... And it's not like the things wear out. They're specifically made for this industry and nothing like the fast food or cafeteria trays. Once you've bought them, they're forever, unless you happen to run the forklift over one. >.< They aren't a consumable, they're a capital expenditure, and they could be sold along with the machine, if necessary. I'd like to get another 1200 of the things and not have this problem ever come up again.

Do you ever want to just lock management in a room and demand an explanation for something that seems so stupid? O.O I understand that sometimes there are obscurely logical reasons for some of this nuttiness, but the proles on the floor would have more respect if they knew what those reasons are. Right now, all we can do is shake our heads and mutter "dumbasses!" This isn't what I learned in Business 101. =p

So... HAVE they run the forlift over one? *grin*

Actually, I always wanted to lock management outside, just to show them that we can go right on doing our jobs without the interference, thank you very much. ^___^
