Tuesday Banshee

lavandarlizard2Almost let myself go into another "is she dead or what?!" lapse. O_o I don't seem to care for winter much anymore; I get all hibernate-ish and don't like leaving the house or my computer. >_> Not that I get much done on it, sadly.
I haz a new kitty! He is a lovely striped tom tabby. He has excellent manners and seems to love sleeping on top of me. Or maybe he's just holding his spot until the ice cream shows up. ^___^ The other cats are getting along/not hissing at him after six weeks, so it's all good now. Even the old girl seems to understand that he's not at all combative. She had eight years of having to avoid Tekko; I guess the notion of not being attacked is pretty weird for her. No mutual head-washing yet, but that's coming. ^__^ The big guy has found a playmate and they sleep together and rough-house and do the head-washing thing. Still trying to get some pics of him; he does the usual "what is that? can I see? what does it do?" with the camera. I have some great shots of his nose. ^__^
Three cats in the house and all is balanced again. ^__^
So, a bit more of soon-to-be really pissed-off Duo.
BFB – Part 104 – Freaky
Jake was prompt; I think he was still doing the 'awed by a cute vampire' thing. Jake likes guys, I know, but he also seems to like women; an equal-opportunity dater.
He saw the look on my face and the concerned looks of the vamp and all the Humans around us. “Duo? What's wrong?”
“My demon is in a situation. I need a port there, and then I need you to back off while I handle it,” I snapped out bluntly.
“Do... what now?”
I shook my head. “Something is wrong there and I don't have time to debate it. Let's go.”
His eyes widened. “You want me to drop you into a crisis without backup?! Heero will kill me!”
“If you won't do it, I'll call someone else.”
“But Duo...” I was all set to go full Banshee on his ass when Ctik stepped up.
“Pardon me, but is the objection that Duo has no backup?”
Jake glanced at him. “Weird stuff happens when Duo is alone in... situations.”
“Ah. Then allow me to offer backup.” Ctik smiled at me and I saw what might have been a spark of excitement in the backs of his sharp eyes. And then he winked at me where Jake couldn't see.
“Oh crap... Duo...”
“No. Ctik and his current problem are my final exam, but that doesn't mean I can ignore my demon.”
I folded my arms over my chest and Ctik stepped up to my side. So far not a word out of the Humans behind us. Maybe they were in shock or maybe they were still processing the whole “demon” thing.
Jake scrubbed his hands over his face. “Dammit Duo... I'll take you there, but I can't just leave you! Even with backup!”
“We'll discuss it when we get there. Let's go.”
I waggled my fingers at the silent Humans. “Sorry for the sudden departure, folks, but duty calls.”
“We’ll be fine,” Ctik assured them. “I am a vampire, you know.”
Jake threw up his hands then and grabbed hold of both of us.
