I know someone currently living in Japan; fortunately, she is way south of Tokyo. I know other people who have lived there in the past, further north, maybe nearer the center of the disaster. I hope that their friends and families are safe.
The saddest thing right now, in American news, is to see Charlie Sheen getting more coverage that a disaster of epic proportions. O.O I am ashamed.

Japan is trying to melt down and dig out, NZ is a mess, Australia is either on fire or floating away and Haiti... Good crap, those poor people in Haiti having been sitting in rubble for over a year! How is any of that less important than whatever crap Charlie Sheen poops out?!
And you know the worst part... O_O I feel more for the animals... The wild animals, the pets, the farm animals... Finding out that Maru is safe and that a woman found her cat alive make me cry with relief. O.o I'm pretty sure that says something about me, but I don't know what. >_>
