Too wombatted to manage a rant this year. *sigh* Pretty damn sad when you can't remember the stuff that bugs the hell out of you. O.o Maybe later. I will play with my new yarn; that always makes me smile. ^___^ And I will also contemplate appliqué.

Tired, tired, tired... =_= *zzzzzzzzzzzz...*

BFB – Part 103 – Crazy is as Crazy Does

I didn’t want pizza again, but I did want something substantial for Heero. Both of us can go without food for a good while, but neither of us looks forward to it. I browsed through his list and then called the better hamburger place. They do some super burgers, as well as fish and chips to die for. I ordered two of the giant burgers, one Hawaiian style and one San Francisco style, a side of fries and onion rings and a salad that we would share and an order of fish and chips for myself. I hoped he would appreciate my nod toward a balanced diet. We already had tea and sodas in my reefer. I used Heero’s credit card and asked for magical delivery; they know us, so that part was easy.

The food arrived five minutes before Heero came out of the bathroom. I was just setting everything out when he sneaked up behind me and gave me another hard hug.

“Thought you might be drowning yourself in there,” I teased.

“Just scrubbing. What tap water there is in that region comes out brown. Call me an elitist, but I prefer my water to be clear.”

He kissed the back of my neck and then let me turn around to return the hug. “You want to talk now?” he murmured. I wanted to get this over with, if only to relax him enough to sleep. I was already pretty sure we wouldn’t be getting frisky. His affection was there, but restrained.

“Will you tell me everything?”

He winced and sighed. “I don’t want to have secrets from you,” he began slowly. “I told you most of it last night and the rest… is not terribly pertinent.”

“But I really want to hear the whole thing,” I coaxed. He planted me in a chair and took the opposite chair.

“I know…” He rested his head on his clasped hands. “Can you bear to wait until after I deal with my Clan?”

Oh. I hadn’t considered that he might need to talk to the IchiBan first. She did, after all, have a bigger claim on him than I did right now. I wanted to hear everything and then dissect it and examine all the squirmy little bits, but I suppose I could contain myself for another day. Somehow. Crud.

I sucked it up, though, understanding his annoyance at possibly embarrassing his Clan, and slapped on a smile for him. “I can do that, Heero,” I murmured. “As long as I get you back in one unblemished piece.” I offered him an onion ring.

He took it and crunched noisily. “’Unblemished’? What do you think Giniro will do to me?” He smirked wearily.

“She’s a Wyvern, isn’t she?” He nodded, humoring me. “Then I think she *might* do pretty much *anything*, but I don’t *expect* her to do anything that leaves a mark. I like you just as you are,” I said firmly.

He laughed and rose out of his chair to lean over and kiss me and then we attacked our dinner.

Oh man, now I'm hungry for onion rings! And a nice fat burger! Very nice, though, glad to see that Duo is willing to wait to hear everything.

Duo knows he'll eventually get the whole story, in detail, but he's still impatient. ^___^

*sigh* I want onion rings, too.

I'll bet they get really good onion rings. Do you know how hard it is to get really good ones? Sorry, I tend to rant sometimes...

Anyway, I too, want to know 'everything'. Duo is so patient. The two of them are perfect for each other.

As for his comment about Giniro... me thinks she might be quite insulted and hurt at his remarks.

Oh, I do indeed know how hard it is to find really good onion rings. >.< A regional chain makes pretty decent ones, but it depends on which store you're at.

Giniro finds Duo to be consistently amusing. She's a Wyvern; she would expect him to be unsure. ^___^

Ah! that dinner sounds good! I love a good fish n chips! *grin* I'm sure the IchiBan won't leave marks. At least I hope not!

*pets you* Playing with yarn is a good thing to do!

I haven't had fish and chips in months... O.o That's probably why Duo ordered them. ^___^

I am determined to try some gloves this year. I can do socks on five needles, but I've never tried gloves before. My hands are getting stiff enough from the cold that it's probably about time. ^___^

There are some places here that have good fish and chips- I know Farmer Boys makes some decent ones! Course I also found these teeny fish sticks at Costco that actually bake up pretty good too.

Gloves would be a great idea!

I had a pair once, that my mother knitted for me. Her one and only glove project. ^___^ It was much like my quilted coat in that she swore she would never do that again. *snork!*

Thanks for the regular updates. Seems everyone has been blown up by a nuke or something. Been three months since Amy Mizuno updated, it's rare for it to go over a month with her. Anyone know if she's alright? Also, since I bought Mum The White Album, that infernal song going number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, has been stuck in my head. What a trip.

*snork!* My sympathies for #9. ^___^ That one was with me for days once upon a time... O.o I really hate earworms.

Maybe this would help your update jones? O.o

They're so... cuddly! ^_____^
Are we playing with the Caron or the Amazing? :D

It's hard to imagine a reptile as cuddly, but I've met a few. ^___^ And Banshees are always cuddly. Right up until they rip your heart out.

Something wants to come of the Caron, but it hasn't shared with me yet. >.< One of those 'Oh! I *know* what to do with that! I think...' The Amazing is a tiny bit daunting... O.O It's so pretty... I'm wondering it it would make gloves...

So far, I'm just fondling both of them, waiting for inspiration to leap up and wave. ^____^

The Amazing is like the poor man's Noro! You might try going on Ravelry and looking the yarn up to see what other people have made out of it.

Oh, good idea. I didn't even think of that. ^___^ Probably because the last time I went to Ravelry I think i had a 'lost time' episode. O.o

My current project is just all over the place. I keep going... 'Ooops!' and then trying to fudge it rather than rip it. *sigh* I'm probably going to be sorry and have to do the whole damn thing over. >_<;

Ouch! >.< My rule is if I screw up more than three times, I probably need to frog it and reread the instructions looking for the typos.

I had to re-write the instruction of a lace shawl once because of typos. Pain. In. The. Ass. >_< But I got it fixed and my mom loved the damn thing. ^___^

I'm doing Zoomy gloves, but using Deborah Norville Serenity, the magenta, purple and grey colorway. So far, so good. Did I ever mention how annoying seed stitch is? O.o

From: [identity profile] sunhawk16.livejournal.com
It's a pattern with the different sizes in parenthesis (sp), and they even warned me to print the stupid pattern out and highlight my numbers. But that seemed like such a waste of paper, and the printer is still acting up, so... *sigh* I don't think it's going to be THAT big a deal, but it's definitely going to be *cough* unique. :D
Zoomy gloves? Pattern? *pokes*

Date: 2011-01-11 11:53 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lavendarlizard.livejournal.com

Hey, unique is good. ^___^

Zoomy yarn from Red Heart. I'm not sure if it's still in production, but it's a chunky-but-not-fuzzy yarn so I had the Norvelle stuff... ^___^

What I should be using...

http://www.coatsandclark.com/Products/KnittingCrochet/Yarns/Super+Bulky/Red+Heart+Zoomy.htm

What I am using...

http://premieryarns.com/yarn.php?id=124 Color Majesty, about midway down.

...and (hopefully) here is the pattern.

http://www.coatsandclark.com/Crafts/Knitting/Projects/Accessories/LW1616+Knit+Newsboy+Hat+and+Fingerless+Gloves.htm

I really, really detest seed stitch; have I even mentioned that? O.o

From: [identity profile] sunhawk16.livejournal.com
I've used the Norvelle before and kind of like working with it, but don't know how it holds up. Man! I didn't know there were so many colors of that! You never see more than a half a dozen in the store! I feel ripped off! :D

Date: 2011-01-16 07:41 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lavendarlizard.livejournal.com

I wouldn't use it for anything that wants sturdy, like socks, but it seems to be great for warmth without weight. I've been wearing my quick-and-dirty mitts this winter, and so far, so good with them. ^___^

I know! Nobody carries the coolest colors! It's always the reds, browns, blues. That's why I went crazy when i saw the bright color-ways at Joann's. They've never had them before, so I just kind of... auto-bought. O.o

The ones I just finished are the Majesty color-way and the next colors are Spring, Berry Burst and Seven Seas. I want to get Puppydog Tails, Memphis Blues and Grape Jam in the future. ^___^ Maybe I'll try some one-skein minions. *snicker*
