Oct. 13th, 2009 08:19 amUpdate of the tedious, pointless, eye-rolling kind.... ^___~ I expect no comments. *snerk!*
I worked for three weeks; cool; it was fun and interesting. But I'm done again. *sigh* Hoping for something seasonal...
Getting old sucks, lemme tell you. Between the shoulder, the knees and the back, I have found that I can't do half the jobs I used to be able to. Pisses me the hell off. I'm cut off from a lot of stock and warehouse-type jobs. >_< The failing disc in my back has decided to fail a little faster, thanks to a couple of temp jobs I worked last year. =p And one knee has decided to start collapsing at odd moments. >_> Almost fell over in Target's parking lot last week. That would've been embarrassing. =_=
The Historical Society's museum building is crawling into its new foundation place. Spent an hour taking pictures yesterday. It doesn't have a roof right now; I sure hope they had some tarps over it. It *rained* last night! O_o I know; big damn deal. Well, for us it is a big damn deal, since we haven't had any appreciable rain in months. Going back this morning to see what progress they made. And more pictures. ^___^
I finally have had to acknowledge that my Canon SLR (a big old AE1 dinosaur) needs a cleaning and tune-up. The film advance is getting *really* sticky. And the fancy-ass camera shop person better not sneer at my 'saur like the last one did, or I may just have to smack him with it. >_< Note to professional camera geeks: if I could *afford* a digital SLR, I would *own* a digital SLR, tyvm. So just STFU. >_>
Lions are amazingly quick to make. O_o I'd forgotten that.... Also forgotten which bin the mane yarn is in. O_o;;;
Sap help the yarn company if they've discontinued my bunny yarn... O.o
Watching a couple of horses in a ring at the horse park yesterday (wishing the 'saur would cooperate since that's my long lens)... I hope they were just playing . >_> Squeals, kicks, some head-butting... And I swear I heard one of them snarl.... O_O But then they were both sweet as could be when they investigated me. Mommy was at the other side of the ring, but she didn't act concerned.
I really need to find a wide spot in the road where I can pull off and get some pics of all the horses that live around there. Only two miles from where I live, it's horse central! ^___^ I want a pic of the gorgeous gray that I've seen a couple of times with his/her rider. I almost ran into the ditch watching them one day. ^__~
Two of my cats were chasing each other the other day. One of them glances back, and runs headlong into the door. I'd worry about a concussion, but with a cat, how would you tell? She always acts weird.... >_>
Tekko has finally acknowledged that she can't lay on my lap when I'm working with yarn. She has instead claimed the arm of the sofa next to me. She lays up there on her pink rug and stares at me until she falls asleep. Even the RM has finally fallen to her cuteness. ^___^ He held out a long time; over two years. *snicker* The Force for Crankiness is strong in that one.
Fic? you ask. Working on it. I have trouble doing yarn stuff and fic stuff at the same time. Perhaps my creativity only has one available outlet. Wonder if anyone sells an adapter for that...? O.O Hm... Seriously, we're working, but the plot bunnies seem to have gotten drunk or something... Even the hamsters are a tad confused right now. ^__^
Dragonette is saucering at my elbow, looking for some comp time before he goes to work. He's leaving me little notepad files open on the desktop with his xmas/birthday/tax refund "want" lists.... It's so cute. ^____^ I love my kid. Yours... eh... not so much. ^_~

Date: 2009-10-14 12:20 am (UTC)So far, it's only been twice in three weeks, so I'm just trying to watch myself. It's a little like back in the day, when I first screwed up my back; if I sneezed, my knees would go out. I still have the habit of stopping and grabbing for support when I sneeze. ^___^
I've been seeing a lot of knee braces lately... I'm beginning to feel like I'm the only screwed-up-knee-person who doesn't have one. O.O Doc appointment next month; maybe I'll remember to ask about that.
And RH is still cranking out the bunny yarn. ^___^ Yay!

Date: 2009-10-15 12:40 am (UTC)Lemme know if the Doc thinks it would be a good idea, I haven't had to wear mine since I got done with therapy, and if I really needed it I do have the heavy duty metal one.

Date: 2009-10-15 02:34 pm (UTC)I think I've noticed a pattern... If I move at a certain angle, like not-quite-sideways, that seems to annoy the knee. I'm consciously trying to not move that way and see what happens. O_O It's my left knee this time, so I'm a little wary of wearing anything that might restrict movement over there. I drive a stick... >_>

Date: 2009-10-15 02:29 pm (UTC)I need new glasses. =p Mine are making me back up from the monitor too far to reach the keyboard. >.< I think they screwed up somewhere when they did the lenses, because something is not right with this pair. >_>
You can adjust your desk?! O_O Wow! I would've killed to be able to do that at work... Desks are always too low for me.... I feel like a hunchback. >_> *sigh*

Date: 2009-10-18 08:31 am (UTC)I just need new glasses because it's been some four years since I last bothered to get a pair. -_- Have to find a new optometrist, too.
It's all Ikea desks at work, so with an allen wrench, you can do pretty much anything. =p

Date: 2009-10-18 03:21 pm (UTC)I'm supposed to have an exam every year; still trying to get an appointment at the clinic. *sigh*
Ah, the impossible dream... In the last two cube farms, the "desks" were just shelves attached to the walls. Theoretically, they could be adjusted, but it involved permissions and maintenance and trying to justify why I wanted it raised... I probably could have done it myself, if I could have managed some alone time with no one spying. >_> I gots tools. =_= And I knows how to use them. ^___^

I can't wait to see more of your pics - I love them.
Those people at the camera shops should learn to have some respects for old camerasaurs... >>; I've been trying to find the film to use with my own camerasaur I inherited from (persumably) my Grandpa and figure out how to use it, but the shop-people haven't been very helpful...
Your kid is so cute! xD

Date: 2009-10-15 02:20 pm (UTC)I think I lucked out and got one of the older guys this time. He actually treated Canonsaur with respect! ^___^ That could win him a sale when I have money for a DSLR someday. Anyway, it turned out to be something stupidly simple; new battery. O.o Which I never suspected, because the battery usually lasts for several years, and I just changed it last fall. O.O Guess I got a bad one then. Canonsaur is fine now. He doesn't even need cleaning. ^___^ AND I now have a source for lenses. I be a hapi lizard.
My kid is a little shit, but yeah, he's pretty cute too. ^___~
