I'm not sure how this will look... My camera is small and old and begs to differ with me regarding when and how much to flash. >_< But I think it's viewable. ^___^ It's a romance plot bunny and Duo's Dad from BFB.
Amigurumi attack! ^o^ You got the bunny put together! Damn, did you have to weight his little butt to balance those ears? *grin* Is that the Best Bunny pattern? Myyyyy what big ears he has! :D So cute! Is it working? Feeling romantic? ^^;
Yep. ^___^ I sat down Sunday and cobbled him together. He still needs a nose and mouth and his heart is still in the sewing box, but he's together. ^____^
And when I finished him I made the parts for the Zodiac critter. ^___^ Still in parts, alas.
Not so much romantic, but Wufei is waving a "pr0n" flag and jumping up and down, so I may get an ii kibarashi by next week. ^___~
You know... 'his heart is still in the sewing box' just sounds... odd. O.o A pr0n ii kibrashi? Wufei gets laid?! O_O
I broke down and wound one of my 'good' skeins into a ball and... am currently staring at it. I did a little swatch and it came out almost half the gauge the pattern I'm looking at calls for. Half of my brain is urging me to just double the cast on. The other half is snickering behind its hand and wants to double strand it. But that would mean more yarn... >_<;
Hm... You're right; that is kind of creepy-sounding. But hey; you're the one who wrote the zombie drabble. ^____^
Could you maybe find some other yarn to double it up with? Like if the good yarn is a fancy, pair it with a plain yarn? That way you probably wouldn't need to buy more of the fancy... O_o
This yarn is going to be the death of me. >_<; Thirteen rows in and I've barely got an inch and a half. I've already lost a stitch and I just suddenly realized that the pattern is NOT doing what I thought it did and I either have to live with it or frog the last three rows. *sigh*
O_O That's not good. That's like 8 rows per inch? Get thee behind me, tiny stitches! *ack!*
I know you have more patience for these things than I do, but seriously; I'd rip that thing out and go up three sizes on my needles. O.o For something 18x72? That's like 52,000 stitches. >_>
Ripped out the whole thing this morning. >_<; It hurt, but... it was just going to be UFO forever. I then said 'screw it' and am trying double strand on size 11 needles. I will run out of yarn and I will weep copiously and hope for some pity yarn for my birthday... >_>
I had to rip out that special scarf I started. Opposite reason, though. Too many cast-ons; the thing was going to be ginormous. O.o But I fixed it and now have about 14 inches done with three colors so far. ^___^
I also did two more rounds on the pointy star thing; I'm up to 34 sts, point to point on that. And I did six rows on the not-a-test afghan. All during about three hours of cartoon-watching. ^___^
Damn! You should have the twitches more often! ^o^ I've worked on the special yarn shawl off and on today because on-line was making the headache worse, and I think I have about twenty-one rows, which is closer to five inches. Still going to take the rest of my life, but it's WAY better than it was! ^^;
I've never worked with the hobby clay before, but Merula assures me that it's so easy any old dragon can do it, so maybe the little guy will eventually have a scythe. ^____^
Romance bunny has rather perky ears. O.o They just refused to flop over, so I guess he's a light-hearted romance bunny, as opposed to an angsty romance bunny. ^____^
I'm thinking of hanging "Dad" in my truck.... ^___^ I haven't tried the clay yet. I need to read the package and figure out how much I need for the scythe. How do I store what I don't use? Just pop it into a ziplock bag? O.O
Love the bunny. I keep going back to read BFB. Love it. Also like Wheels. Speaking of BFB...I have this vision of the Ichiban wearing a shirt that says "Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup." About the above cuteness...Did you make them yourself?
I did make them both. ^___^ The bunny is the Best Bunny pattern from Lion Brand Yarn (it's the ears; I couldn't resist the ears) and Duo's Dad is a variation on the Grim Reaper from the Creepy Cute book. ^_____^
I should know better than to try to post when high on cold meds... after reading the posted comments I realised that you did make the cuteness...so the next questions are...What pattern did you use and did you use acrylic? If you didn't little death would look wonderful felted...
They are both acrylic. I don't use a lot of wool for my amigurumi; Sunhawk has had more success there than I would, I think. ^___^ I might eventually try some washable wool, but I'm not real big on felting. ^_o
