“Ah. I’m sorry. Would you like me to stay home tomorrow…?”

“Nah… It’s annoying, not incapacitating.”

“Okay. But I can work from home if you feel like company. We’re still wrapping up the Montevado mess, so it’s all paperwork.”

“Have you ever noticed that when a case or operation goes well, it’s known by its code name, but if something goes wrong, it’s known by the name of the agent most badly injured?”

“Um… No one calls the Tinkerhell thing the ‘Maxwell Mess’.”

“Heh. That’s only ‘cuz you and Chang would kill them.”

“Damn straight we would. Slowly. I brought some ice cream for dessert; how do you feel about some sweet and sour pork for dinner?”

“Mmmm… Love it.”

^____^ Actually, what kept coming to mind was something along the lines of Heero's distraction in Ion. Moment of inattention leads to multiple bullet holes? And something more on top of that, maybe. Falling down three flights of stairs after getting shot? O.o Montevado is NOT a Happy Preventor. ^____^

I hate to say it, but it's good to see Duo having a bad day....and admitting it. He's been so optimistic and happy for everyone. I just knew that he had to have a few aches and pains and some emotionally 'not so great' days.

Heeheehee. See above. ^__~ Montevado will be fine, once he's out of traction and all his holes have healed. And since they don't use metal plates anymore, he won't be setting off the metal detectors, either. ^____^
