Especially to dragons... O.o

I ran across this site while cruising google, and it just fascinated me. Problem? It's in Dutch, I think? Anyone out there read Dutch? Or whatever language it is? Because I really want to know what these things are. ^__^

...and when did LJ do this reformatting thing...? Should I be afraid...? O.O

It looks interesting, but I don't have a clue what language that is. And what on earth does it have to do with sporks? Oh wait... that says spark. Uh... never mind...

I am pretty positive that's Dutch, but then again I don't speak it, so.
But here in Germany I recently ran across a drinks menu that folds up exactly like that.
In Dutch 'trouw' means 'marry' and 'kaarten' is cards; I would hazard a guess and say that this particular site sells spiffy folding greeting cards?

If you have the Yahoo toolbar, it has a Translate Page buttom, that will translate most of it for you.

*snork!* Well, if it is something to do with marriage or weddings, then it probably needs sporking... ^.o

Thanks! They do seem to be a printer of custom... uh... paper stuff. ^_^ It's not the events associated that hooked me; it's the way the things flip and fold... It reminds me of a toy I had when I was small; it flip-flopped in a weird way. I think it might have been called a Jacob's Ladder...?

I tried googling 'turning cards' but that was the only thing that came up. Maybe it goes by a different name in different places... Hm.... ^.o

BTW, I love your icon. ^__^ But it needs a line to the effect of "and infects them with its own loan-words. There is no cure." English: The Kudzu of the Spoken Word.

Right now, I don't dare add anything to my computer... It's got some annoying and unpleasent hairball, and I'm afraid to make it worse before I can get it fixed... =p Cranky machines...

Oh! I know! I'll check it from work; I have a translator there. ^__^

Can't read it, but the thing is fascinating to watch.

Was your Jacob's ladder toy made out of wood and ribbons?

Sure was! ^__^ I could play with that thing for hours.... Between that and the wheelie thing.... ^___^ Just one of the things that makes me wonder if I fall on the autism spectrum. ^.o

Have no idea what language it is (probably Dutch), but I can read it anyway. o_O kinda... As far as I can tell, these cards in particular are wedding announcement/invitations. The first layer has the initials, the second says [date] Married, third has the date and two names, and fourth has the information of location, time, etc.

I'm so tempted to figure out how to do the foldiness.

I was too, when I saw a menu folded in such a way. Though if I had known a week later instructions would more or less appear on my flist, I wouldn't have bothered.

It's really fun to flip around, though.

That's what had me bug-eyed for a good ten minutes; how does it *do* that and where can I find instruction on how to make one? O.O

I'm wondering now if someone who does paper crafts, like scrapbooking or handmade cards might know about these. Maybe they go by a different name here? I'm still poking at google... o.o

Oooo, I haven't seen these in years! I used to have some as toys that came as Christmas cards, both square ones like this and one that I recall had 6 edges, and somehow flexed to change the flat sides. Now I wonder where they went? they were too cool to throw away...

They are called "flexagons" and you can find many sites with instructions to make them if you google that term.

*scampers off to load printer with new ink*

*giggle-giggle snerk!*
