is it 2008 yet...?
Jan. 4th, 2008 06:15 pmDoesn't feel like it, but that's what the calendar says... O.o
I survived another week of reception. Oddly enough, several people said good night tonight with "You'll be back on Monday?" tacked onto the end. O.O How bizarre. Now I wonder if there have been people who actually didn't come back.... >_> To me, reception is the worst, hardest part of the job, because I am in no way, shape or form a 'people person'. It's very hard for me to talk to strangers. I do it because I have to, but my stomach just knots up and I constantly fear saying something wrong. This would be why I prefer back office work. Internal customers are much easier to deal with, because they become familiar, they usually have decent attitudes and they are glad for your help. In this job, I'm going to be in contact with 'the public' and most of that public is not going to be really happy at being at my window. O.o
Being a painfully shy dragon has its drawbacks. ~_~ *sigh*
Today, though, I got to go upstairs to get a first taste of the main part of what my job will be. ^___^ This begins to look like fun, so I guess I will manage the reception part somehow. Data entry! Tons and tons of data entry, updates, analysis! Dragon heaven for me! Yippee! In the meantime, though, I am freaking exhausted and still a week away from my first payday.
Here is the next bit of Speed Trap; hope you enjoy it. I am trying to have something else ready to go when this ends, but I fear I may not make it. o.o;;; Don't hurt me.
