Oh! How terrible! And to think the little creep hadn't even contacted his insurance company! GRRRR

I'm sure a certain wyvern and banshee would 'love' to 'talk' to him.

Alas, at times like these, don't we all wish they were real?

Oh, you betcha! That pic doesn't show the 60 or so people who gathered to stare, take pictures and video and laugh uproariously. >.< And people wonder why I am not a "people person."

I'm so sorry about your truck! I know it's a picture of your truck being ruined, but it's really beautiful in a very strange way. o.O

He's not quite ruined; just really damp inside. >_> And smells like a wet dog. =p A swampy wet dog.

It was kind of amazing, at first, until I realised that no one had a clue of how or where to turn off the damn water. Took over 45 minutes to finally get a water district guy out. I shudder to think how much water ran into the storm drains. O.o

Akachan is on the web! It's really weird... when I first saw the pic, it never even dawned on me that the water could get inside. O_O The rain doesn't get in...

I am assuming there are some vents or openings somewhere, maybe the windows, where the pressure of the geyser managed to force its way in. Cuz, yeah; never had the rain come in. O.o

And I didn't get the bed swept out in time yesterday and it rained overnight so I still have a quart or so of sand in the bed. *bleh*

It looks like your truck is frolicking in a fountain!

No kidding! I didn't get any pics of the moments where the wind blew the water over the whole thing; that was entertaining. ^___^

I really hope that the kid got a ticket out of this... too bad you can't make him pay for getting the truck dried out!

It happened on private property, so no ticket. =p I've filed a claim with his insurance; I'd like to get the carpet cleaned and my map books replaced, since that was really the only damage. We'll see how it goes. ^__^ His insurance is good and they'll be paying to replace the hydrant, too. ^.o

If it makes you feel any better... I knew a guy at work that had a person fall on his car. =p (at least, that's what i heard through office gossip.)

Oh dear!

Looks like it's being buried in foam. ^^

I hope the insurance settles soon and you get your truck back in ship-shape condition.

*HUGS*

Ick! That's way worse! O_O;

^____^

(suicide, accident or.... murder...? O_O)

I hope so too. The carpet smells like a swampy wet dog. O_o *bleh*

You may or may not remember a year or two ago when I reported someone taking a leap off the top of my office building?

I bet there's no insurance claim for that kind of thing. >_>

(nothing like a bit of morbid humor on a monday morning...)

From: [identity profile] lavendarlizard.livejournal.com
O_O;; Oh, my. Yes, I do remember that... But surely that would qualify as an accident? Because the car had nothing to do with the guy jumping; it just happened to be in the path... O.o If the car owner's insurance wouldn't pay off on that, then sucks-boo to them. =p

From: [identity profile] turnippatch.livejournal.com
Oh yeah... I guess insurance covers acts of god and such forth.  I usually only think of it kicking in when there's someone (living) to blame and collect from.  =p  Hopefully your premium wouldn't go up for that.

Date: 2008-10-06 06:36 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lavendarlizard.livejournal.com
That would doubly suck if they raised your premiums. O.o Probably your insurance would pay you, and then they would go after the jumper's insurance or estate or whatever. ^___^

Date: 2008-10-06 08:11 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] turnippatch.livejournal.com
Your insurance company should understand that your truck's booboos are totally not your fault and so they shouldn't raise your premiums, right?

Date: 2008-10-06 08:19 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lavendarlizard.livejournal.com
Certainly in that case, you would hope. O.o

Now, if you go out to the desert and park in a dry wash and then your car gets swept away by a flash flood... well, in that case you may just be a dumbass. ^___^ You're definitely a dumbass if you drive around a barrier and try to cross running water and end up as "film at eleven" as a water rescue... ^____^ But some guy lands on the car? We need repellant force fields. >.< Weren't we supposed to have those by 2000, or was that just flying cars and jet packs? O.o

Well, I meant you in a non-rhetorical sense.  Your truck, as in Akachan.  =)  Totally wasn't your fault you parked next to a hydrant about to meet its demise! -_-

Date: 2008-10-06 09:04 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lavendarlizard.livejournal.com
Technically, I was even forced to park there, since that's my assigned spot. O_O It's the management's fault! ^____^

I really hope it's all dried up nicely now... once upon a time I got rain in my former car and it grew MOLD!!

The photo itself though, is still awesome! (Hope Akachan didn't end up on youtube though...)

Fortunately, it's been pretty warm the past week and most of the carpet is finally dry. ^___^ No mold.

and of course, the hydrant has to be right next to your truck. Murphy's love.
