I finally managed to get my film photos developed. My old pharmacy (where I dropped all of my processing) got sucked up by the giant CVS, so this was my first run on their processing. *sigh* Everybody has a different way of downloading the photos from disc to computer. =p I just got used to the Adobe thing for the digital and now they've discontinued it. The comes-with-XP app confuses me, so I don't play around with these things as much as I used to. What you see is what I shot. O_o And yeah, if I could afford it, I'd totally go buy something consistent and learn how to use it. I'm older than tiktaalik, though, so it takes longer for stuff to sink in. >_< Anyway.

First, a few floral arrangements. Some of the arrangements are a stretch to meet the yearly theme of the fair; this year was music.

An Obama dragon! ^___^ I do so want one of those. I'd even like the companion McCain gargoyle. ^__~

A blue-ribbon gator! My mom made something similar to this for my kid when he was little. He drug the thing around so that it finally wore out when he was about 14. ^___^

More stone garden critters and artwork.

Random female bungee jumper. She jumped because her guy was too scared. ^___^

I have another roll with more fair pics as well as some home stuff, but it's not quite finished.

Speaking of home stuff... A recent project for someone very special. ^____^

In progress...

Finished...

Detail...

And that's it for today. ^____^

What's that? Fic? Umm..... I'll have to check with the bunnies... O_o

Oooooh...! I have not gotten to that, yet. O.O I kinda-sorta know how to do it from watching Mom all those years, but I lack the space for a block at the moment. And the knit pieces *to* block. ^__~

I made a sweater-thing once upon a time (first project sort of thing) that was just two rectangles of stockinette with top and bottom borders of garter. All it required for seaming was the shoulder seams and the sides, leaving a few inches open for ease at the bottom. It was sleeveless, but you can always make simple rectangle sleeves. Hmm... I have been annoyed at the lack of cotton sweaters in the shops for winter; maybe I'll try that again for myself. Oh, I know! I can add the seaming stitch! That'll take care of the sewing. ^____^ You realize you're an enabler, right? O_~

Remember; exercise replaces fat with muscle and muscle is heavier than fat. ^___^ I can tell better by how my clothes fit. Hang in there, birdy!

^______^

It's amazing what a differene it makes in the piece. And so cool that people are posting before/after pics! Sometimes you can hardly believe it's the same piece. O.o
I'm seriously wondering what it would do for that scarf I made my Mom. I think that's the closest I've ever come to lace.
Enabler? Me? ^_______^

I think I need to admit that the Dew needs to completely go. Even on the weekend. Even when we go out. ;_;

Yes, you! *snerk!*

None at all?! O_O Not even diet???

[identity profile] sunhawk16.livejournal.com 2009-08-23 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
There has to be a reason the weight is just stuck. *huffs* I eat oat bran for breakfast, dry Cheerios for lunch, and fish or chicken for dinner. With veggies. *bleh* Snacking is kept pretty much to apple sauce or mandarin oranges. With a half an hour on the treadmill every damn night. What the hell, man? O.o
But I'm still sucking down those Dews on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Maybe they just need to go? I really hate the taste of diet, and I figure if I'm going to have to work THAT hard to adjust my taste, I might as well adjust to something healthy? O.o Right?
Uh... am I whining? >_> Oooops?

Weight is hard to get rid of (specially once it gets all comfy and makes itself at home). =p There are plateaus where nothing you do seems to make a difference, and then suddenly you start losing again. O_o Those are the points at which most people get discouraged and buy a whole triple chocolate cheesecake for dinner. >_> Don't do it! Drop the Dew for a couple of weeks and see if that gets anything moving. ^____^ Maybe if you don't drink any of it for a while, you can bring it back as diet. ^_~

Can you plateau after four pounds? ~_~ I DO think some of it is the fat/muscle thing a little bit... the jeans are a wee bit looser. Not enough to even think about a size change yet, but it's only been a month... right? O.o

[identity profile] lavendarlizard.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it took more than a month to gain it, so it'll take more than a month to lose it. ^__~ I've been told that one-half to a pound a week is good; you are more likely to be building new habits and less likely to do the yoyo thing.

Hang in there! ^__^
